Happy Father’s Day

 Fathers come in all different ways.  It doesn’t have to be the man who gave you life, but the person you call Dad.  Here’s to all you Dads, Brothers, Uncles and Friends who have the role of being a Father.

I was part of a team-up with Petaloo and Authentique this month and we got to play with Authentique’s Strong collection which is an all Father’s Day paper collection.  The colors were perfect and matched Petaloo’s Darjeeling collection.  This mini collection from Petaloo is perfect for cards and I love the color combos, don’t you?

Digital Stamping take 2

I’ve been celebrating the return of Chi Chi Memories Stamps and each week I’ve been creating cards using our most popular sets.  Today I’m using Happy Carnival.  I used it last week, but you didn’t see this clown which is also included in the set.

The balloons I used are from the Tea Party set.  I altered them a bit from the original so it would work with my card.  I printed them onto pattern paper multiple times so I could have different balloons.  Another great tip and another reason why you want digital stamps.

Jordy the clown is also sold separately in case you don’t want the entire set.

Stamping with Digital Stamps

I wasn’t sure what to make of this when I first starting to design, but I think I know what direction it’s gonna to.  I’m going to turn this into a mini album.  This a panel, but not sure it’s the cover or what yet.  You will see it unfold as the weeks go on.  At the end of the month it will bloom into something…LOL

This stamp set is called, Happy Carnival and is one of many sets I used to create with.  I used the clown with the shorts as my main piece.

I’m still learning how to color this adorable little guy, so please bear with me as I learn.  I did pick up a little trick on how to highlight his cheeks.  Use R20 to color his cheeks and then use a white marker for highlighting, so cool!

This set is called Puppet Show.  I used the stage drape as the drape on my stage.  I printed the stage and fussy cut what I wanted to use.

I made a little curtains to hang alongside my balancing clown with ribbon.  The drape I fussy cut is used to hide any flaws.

The last set I used is called, Tea Party.  I used the the decorated circles as my balancing ball for my clown.  Now you can see why I adore this digital stamps from Chi Chi Memories.  You can change the sizing to whatever you want to make your project work and there’s no need to store them.  It’s already on your computer!

Stamping with Unity Stamps

 

I really enjoyed stamping with Unity Stamps during Petaloo’s team-up week with Unity Stamps.  The stamp set I used is called, “you’re my bestie”. This adorable set is just too cute to pass up, plus there’s a sale going on at Unity Stamps now.  Take advantage of the sale going on now.

While I played with the Unity stamps I also came across a little fun trick that you may or may not have discovered.  I used Petaloo’s Value Bag of Medium layers Color Me Crazy flowers. You will need to pick 3 different sizes to achieve this look.  I wanted to add color so I sprayed some water on it to make it more pliable.  Next I used Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine in Mustard and sprayed all the different layers.  To speed up the drying time I used my heat gun.  When all was dry I used chestnut roan to ink the edges of the flowers.  It’s not needed, but it gave the flower a softer look.  Petaloo also released a new line of brads this year that you’ll just adore in different colors and styles.  I used a brad from Petaloo’s line on my card to add a touch of elegance.

Give white flowers a spray of color using Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine and you’ll get the perfect flower to match your project.

Petaloo brads newly released this Winter CHA 2013.  I just love these and use on almost everything.

Stamping with a Sketch

I’ve been playing with card sketches and I found this one in particular that I really really like.  It’s called Deconstructing Jen.  I’m sure you are familiar with this sketch site, but I’m super duper new to it. I thought I try it out and it was really easy and fun.  Here’s the sketch I used from Deconstructing Jen.

I used Happy Daddy’s Day stamp set from Chi Chi Memories for my card sketch. The little girl in this set is adorable and can be used for just about any theme.  I didn’t make a Father’s Day card of course, but decided to use it for something else.

Chi Chi Memories Digital Stamps

Have you heard of Chi Chi Memories?  If you haven’t, you should check them out.  It’s a digital stamp store and they have adorable images.  Come and take a look at their blog.

I used the Summer time set which I just love!  The set has clouds, these cute two kids and other coordinating pieces.  You’ll love it!

Color Me Crazy with Petaloo Flowers

I’ve been hard at work playing with these awesome flowers from Petaloo.  I love that they come in so many styles and and textures.  The flowers are called,” Color Me Crazy”.

I love that you start with a white flower and after you have played til the cows come home, you get a masterpiece.

I started out with Color Me Crazy flowers in white.  Then I used Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine to color my flowers.  Next, I stamped the center of each flower with a stamped flower in black.  I added a Petaloo brad and tada…it’s a masterpiece!

Step 2 spray your desired color and stamp the center.

You can achieve this easily just by adding color and stamping.  Anything is possible when you use Petaloo’s Color Me Crazy collection. You should check out all the talent they have this week on Petaloo’s blog.

Happy National Scrapbook Day!!!

What’s everyone doing today to celebrate National Scrapbook Day?  I’m at a crop today with some friends that I haven’t seen in awhile because we all live far apart form each other.  Days like this give us an opportunity to meet and have fun creating with our much loved hobby of crafting.  To kick start the day here’s a few cards I made to help me get in the spirit.

I figured I take advantage of the day to start on my Mother’s Day cards so I don’t have to scramble at the last minute to get something made.

I used Vintage Bliss from Simple Stories and Petaloo’s NEW Penny Lane collection.  They go so well together, don’t you agree?

I have two Mother’s to make cards for.  One for my Mother In Law and the other for My Mom.  I used the Vintage Bliss collection as well and the Penny Lane flowers from Petaloo.
