Perfect Day for Card Making

Ragamuffin by IOD, a Creative Imaginations collection.

Ragamuffin was released during Winter CHA 2012.   The collection has  7 12×12 double sided papers, 12×12 letter sticker sheet,  6×6 mini pad, 2 flower sets , die cuts  and more.

Great for any paper craft project!

I didn’t have a sentiment for this card because I felt that it didn’t need one.  However you can always add one if you desire.  The colors and patterns in this collection is so versatile.  You can easily use this collection for any theme.

Here’s  a list of what I used:

Labels One SM (Scrap Mart has a special using their monthly 40% coupon)

Die-namics Rolled Rose Die

Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Plate

  Sizzix Leaf Steam die

Don’t know where you can get this die anymore since it’s a very old die.   If you can find it, please email me so I can add the link to my post.

Have a great Mother’s Day today!  It’s a perfect day to make cards.

Little Yellow Bicycle and Petaloo Blog Hop

It’s another awesome Blog Hop on the Petaloo Blog today!  Be sure to hop on over there and leave a comment to win win win.  Trust me you don’t want to miss these awesome prizes.

Mother’s Day is this weekend so I thought I make a couple of cards that will inspire you to create a few of your own.

On this card I die cut some honeycomb shapes to match my Petaloo flowers.  Then I folded the flowers over the die cut and add some Little Yellow Bicyclesticker leaves and rhinestone for texture.  Super cute and easy to put together!

This card was created using Little Yellow Bicycle Hello Spring collection and Petaloo’s Mulberry Paper Flowers.

New Mini Delphinium Mulberry Street Pastels

I die cut a few shapes using LYB Hello Springcollection papers and added the Birdy Dazzlers.  Simple and clean, perfect for a quick card and just in time for Mother’s Day!

Aren’t these little birdies adorable? They work so well with LYB Hello Spring collection. Almost like they were meant for each other.

This card was created using Little Yellow Bicycle Hello Spring collection and Petaloo’s Dazzlers

How to Layer Flowers?

Today’s post is all about flowers.  It’s the perfect embellishment for Spring!  I love all the fun and bright colors of this season. Petaloo’s Flora Doodles have the right shape, size and colors.

I couldn’t decide what flower I like best so I used a few to create today’s card.  Don’t you just love these flowers?

I started layering my largest Flora Doodles flower and used the smaller Flora Doodles flowers to fill in the empty spaces on my card.  I also tucked in die cut leaves where needed.  This is a great way to build clusters and to add more texture to your card.

Want another technique to use on your card?  Using the Mulberry Paper Flowers I like to fold them over and layer them on another.  I like this look because it reminds me of a Cone Flower Daisy(my favorite).

The only difference between a real flower and my card is my flower has a cute frog on it.  You can get these adorable frogs from the Dazzlers Water Animalscollection.

Supplies I used:

Jeweled Florettes - Blue/Pink/White/Yell – Baby’s Coming

Embossed Mulb.Paper Daisies - Chartreuse

Hope you enjoyed today’s techniques and come back tomorrow to see more creative projects by our talented Design Team.

Embossing, Painting and Wood Paper

Need something new to do with your paints?  Have you tried to paint using Creative Imaginations Wood paper?

On this card I dry embossed my wood paper.  Next, I colored in my embossed wood with paint and blended the background and stamped my card.

Don’t you just love the look of wood paper when it’s been painted on.  It’s has a really rich look to it and of course you can glitter.  I sprayed some Radiant Rain sprays on this, but I don’t think you can see the glimmer in this photo.

Supplies I used:

Silks Paint: Guatemalan Green, Sky Blue and Fern

Real Wood 6×12 Thin Birch

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

How to Dry Brush with Paints

Dry brushing is a painting technique in which a paint brush that is relatively dry can still holds paint. The resulting brush strokes have a characteristic scratchy look that lacks the smooth appearance that washes or blended paint commonly have.

On this card I blended a lot of color to get the right effect.  You can blend these paints by dry brushing the paints on to your project.  I used Creative Imagination’s Nature Stencil Kit

Supplies I used:

Silks:Ginger Peach, Coral Berry, Sky Blue, Guatemalan Green, Sunburst and Carmen

Nature Stencil Kit
